@Piecesof8 i rly thougt it was obvius that it is only charecter-creation, though one of the best character-creation in any movie ever.
-
@Piecesof8 heheh totally agree. It's Tarantino's MO in a sense, to discuss pointless shit like it's the most important subject ever. And having a BRILLIANT actor say it.
-
@Ekilla9402 Oh so thats why they look alike... What was his name? What did he die of?

It's great that Tarantino used the same actor in Pulp Fiction as a waiter (he was Buddy Holly at Jack Rabbit Slims), and had Travolta's character criticize him as "not much of a waiter"

That's Sean Penn's brother. He passed away several years ago

Thank god a character on a big picture movie talked about this. I absolutely agree with him and when I first saw this it was like feeling a part of something again. I hate it when people piss all over me because I don't tip. He has great reasons why I don't tip and I even use them when the waitresses get snippy with me. Why tip when I do a great service at my job, get paid the same, and don't get tipped. It's bullshit why we have to do what society deems "norm."
-
@Piecesof8 very true, but you gotta admit Mr. Pink has a point.
-
lol I never tip unless Im with somebody.
-
I cant stand Steve Buscemi wasnt ever nominated in the Oscars. He is an amazing actor.
-
I'm too nice to not tip.
Good God, people. The point of this scene was to establish Mr. Pink's character in one quick scene, not to make a statement about tipping one way or the other.
Anyone who turns this page into a debate about whether to tip or not to tip should be banned from ever watching Reservoir Dogs again, and made to write 10,000 word essay on the evils of twisting great movies to pick idiotic fights.
@IronManOfficialguy
A fair point. However, the whole tipping debate in the film really serves as a cover to show us these characters. Look how the behave and react; it's prophetic for the rest of the film. Mr. Pink is aggravating and picky but also a man of principles. Mr. Orange is both hinted as a mole and shown to always tell all in the end. Mr. White sees things in, well, black and white. Mr. Blonde is a loose cannon, Etc. That's the most important part of this scene.
