Occupy with Drive

Let me just start by saying that I agree that
corporations are the reason our country and economy are in the poor condition
they are in today. I have spent 20 years in corporate America and can honestly
say that everything we believe about their thought process, operations and
greed are all true. I am leaving it behind to run my own business. I can no
longer stand the lies, hypocrisy and deceit that become the life of any
corporate soldier, the bottom line is the only line and nothing else matters.
Loyalty and integrity are empty words used to brainwash the up and coming
recruits. Your contribution to the corporation’s earnings is the only thing
your leaders care about, and when your donation to the church of (insert
company name here) is no longer enough to line your boss’ pocket, your days are
numbered. Corporations structure their leaders pay in a way that encourages
them to make decisions based souly on financial results with little or no
concern for human impact, or economic growth outside of their own. Now, with
that said, I cannot support the “occupy” protesters. Yes, they have a
legitimate complaint! Yes, there needs to be a change! But sitting on your ass
with a sign that is witty in your mind may not be the way to propagate change.
As a leader in business, my first impression of “occupy” is, FUCK
YOU! Get off of your ass and do something to affect a change. Run for office
and change laws. Work your way through a corporation until you have the power
to change what you are protesting. Start a business of your own that can employ
those in need. Support small business instead of corporations. Do something
other than sit on a lawn with a sign telling someone else to make the change!
In other words, GET OFF YOUR ASS AND MANAGE THE CHANGE! I hate many things in
this world and love to write about them, but the one I loathe the most is
laziness, and laziness has brought us to where we are today. Laziness has
allowed those with drive to take advantage! It has brought migrants from
everywhere to occupy jobs at a reduced rate because they are not lazy! Laziness
coupled with entitlement allows the corporations to do what they do! Get a grip
on your role in the state of the economy, look yourself in the mirror and take
REAL action! Be constructive! Be entrepreneurial! Effect change, and most of
all, quit crying!
